Wed. December 31, 2008:
What a way to spend the last day of 2008. Today was our day to shine. We knew these fish were going to bite one day
and today was it... The final total for the day is as follows: 17 Tuna with 14 over 200 lb's and 2 more over 300 lb's. Lucky anglers were Fred Gates with a
305 lb fish and David Choate with a fish at 302.5 lb's. Marilyn Reece with a 291 lb Tuna, Taija (Teddy) Katsumata with a 277 lb Tuna, Edward Plants with a
277 lb fish, Robert Brown with a 253 lb fish, and the list goes on. We are blessed with great weather and great company. We will be at this spot again tomorrow
and hope to start the New Year the way we ended this one. Have a Safe and Happy New Year from the Intrepid Crew.....

Tues. December 30, 2008:
Today was another day of scratch fishing for the cows. We lost a monster fish just after daybreak due to the hook
straightening out. This was a HUGE fish!!! The fish put on a great show and in the end won the battle. Who knows how big it was, but we got a great look at it
and to say it was over 300 lb's is an understatement. We did get some very nice Tuna today however. Hot stick was David Choate with two cows, one at 219 lb's
and the other at 270 lb's. We had three other cows for the day and a couple under the 200 mark. The weather is perfect! We will give this area another try
tomorrow. "The Intrepid Team"

Mon. December 29, 2008:
Well, we knew it would take some looking to relocate the fish, and it did. We spent the first half of the day hunting
along with the rest of the fleet. Around midday we found our first school, but it did not respond for us. Shortly after that one we got on a school that stayed
with us for the remainder of the afternoon. We scratched away at the giant Tuna and the end result was 2 more SUPER COWS for the Intrepid anglers along with
fish in the low 200's. Lucky anglers were Mick Coats with a fish that taped at 325 lb's and Lee Shepard with a 305 pounder. Henry Aguilar with a 220 and
one more that taped at 298 lb's. We will be at this location again tomorrow. Wish us luck. "The Intrepid Team"
|
Sun. December 28, 2008:
We started the fishing portion of this trip on a good note. The long run down to the lower banks was broken up this
afternoon with an excellent stop on 18-25 lb Yellowtail. Everyone on board was able to land some nice Yellows with a few hot sticks getting near limits in only
a few hours time. The weather is improving by the minute and we are now on our way to hunt for the trophies. Wish us luck.. "The Intrepid Team"
|
Sat. December 27, 2008:
We are traveling south rigging our tackle and enjoying a nice ride despite the choppy sea conditions. Today's plan
is to stop somewhere along the way to get our lines wet and try for some dinner. One more seminar and then we will be headed for Cow Town. Hope they bite!!!

Thur. December 18, 2008:
The Intrepid arrived this morning and unloaded another catch of quality Giant Tuna. Super Cow honors go to Bill Dunn
of Malibu with his First Place Jackpot winning 341.6 lb Yellowfin Tuna. Second Place went to Charles Pratty of Yorba Linda with his 315.8 lb Super Cow. Both of
these Giants earned the anglers a Catch a Three ride for Free trip. Congrats to you guys. Third Place went to Leo Forcier of Canyon Lake with his 277.8 lb
Cow. Great job guys. Thanks again to our sponsor Avet Reels for a great trip. " The Intrepid Team"

Wed. December 17, 2008:
ETA 6:00 am Thursday morning.
|
Tues. December 16, 2008:
Our travels are blessed with good sea conditions making for a smooth ride home so far. The weather is cloudy and there
is some rain falling at the moment. Tomorrow we will be continuing our way north and will again be on the look-out for any kelps and maybe stopping along the
coast for some Reds and Lings. The trip was a success a in catching of trophy Yellowfin Tuna, and although not everyone on board was able to catch a fish of a
lifetime, we were all happy with a great showing each of our days in the zone. The giants we did catch and the giants that got away are making for some great
stories and moments shared on board. "The Intrepid Team"
|
Mon. December 15, 2008:
Today was a tough day! The fish were just not interested in anything we had for them, and we had everything from macks
to flyers, squid, balloons, kites, slow trolling, anything you can think of we tried. The weather is coming up with a little wind and the fish reacted to it.
Friend and regular here on the Intrepid, Keith Crawford hooked into a VERY large cow today only to have his line break during the battle. What a heart-breaker!!
We will be working our way up the line in search of kelps and other signs to break up the travels. Congratulations to many of our anglers who caught the fish of
their dreams. We have two super cows in the hold as well as several other very large Tuna. More pictures to follow.."The Intrepid Team"
|
Sun. December 14, 2008:
Today was a different day, although we did land some very nice tuna. No super cows, but two more over 200 lbs and a
handful between 130 and 180 lbs. The fish are here, but are just not in the biting mode. You slide on a spot and they come up good only to hook a couple of them.
The weather is perfect and the seas are calm, so we are going to give this one last day before heading home. "The Intrepid Team"
|
Sat. December 13, 2008:
After yesterdays frustration we made a move to another area and found some good schools of giant Yellowfin.
The guys worked very hard spotting the porpoise and bird schools and it showed in our catch. Big fish of the day taped out at 340 lbs, second of the day taped
out at 260 lbs, and we have two other giants hanging while I make this report. The conditions are good and we will be at this again tomorrow. "The Intrepid Team"
Well, we landed one of two that we had on. One was a heartbreak loss just at color and the one we landed was for birthday man Charles Pratty that taped at
305.6 lbs. Congrats to Bill Dunn and Charles for their 300 lbrs.
|
Fri. December 12, 2008:
We had a very frustrating day watching very large Tuna blow up around the boat all day long with a case of lockjaw
when it came to taking a bait. At one point we slid on a spot of breaking fish that was just short of a foamer only to watch them eat our chum and swim away
without taking a single bait. Hopefully tomorrow will be a different day for us. There is plenty of cows around if they ever want to get their act together.
The weather is flat calm with no current at all. Wish us luck. "The Intrepid Team"
|
Thur. December 11, 2008:
Today we found several nice spots of big fish. They just didn't want to bite for us. We had very large Tuna boiling
around the boat many times, but were not lucky enough to hook any of them. Maybe tomorrow will be a different day with the weather getting better by the minute.
We will report back. "The Intrepid Team"
|
Wed. December 10, 2008:
We had a fun day of catching school size Yellowfin and a handful of Yellowtail. Everyone is happy to have several fish
in the box and are now ready to go on the hunt for trophy size Tuna. We are currently catching mackerel at a steady pace and will be moving on to the lower banks
during the night. We will be in position around mid-day. "The Intrepid Team" We have scheduled a NEW 15 DAY TRIP leaving Jan. 23 to Feb. 7 , 2009.
This is a 20 passenger OPEN load and the cost is $4125.00. Give Carol a call at Toll Free 877-686-7827.
|
Tues. December 9, 2008:
We spent the day rigging up tackle and preparing for the battles upcoming in the next few days. The group is having
lots of fun and are getting excited about the prospects of giant Tuna. We will be in the zone around noon tomorrow. Kites are ready, big tackle is ready,
leaders are ready, and we are ready. Lets hope the big fish are ready as well. Wish us luck. "The Intrepid Team"
|
Mon. December 8, 2008:
The Intrepid docked early this morning and unloaded some quality Tuna and Yellows. Congratulations to
First Place Jackpot winner Mark Schmidt with his 350.2 lb Yellowfin. Mark is also our first angler to take us up on the Catch a Three , Ride for Free
offer. Way to go Mark and we hope to repeat this over and over again. Second Place winner was Laurens Rhinelander with his 151 lb Yellowfin. Laurens
caught another Tuna, a whopping 296 pounder (pictured) but it didn't qualify for the JP. Third Place went to Ed Quinten with his 102.6 lb Yellowfin.
Thanks again to this great group for a wonderful trip. We departed today on our AVET REELS 10 day trip and loaded some premium bait to tempt the
next batch of fish we target. Our reports will follow. "The Intrepid Team"
|
Sun. December 7, 2008:
This was the last day of the International Cow Club Charter. We had an absolute great group of guys on board.
We experienced some slow days but everyone kept positive the entire time. We laughed the whole time and generally enjoyed ourselves. We stopped today for some
Cod fishing on the way and caught some beautiful Reds and Lings. Our ETA is 5:30 am Monday morning. Once again we would like to thank everyone on board for
coming out and hope to fish with each and every one again. "The Intrepid Team"
|
Sat. December 6, 2008:
We started the day off fishing the mainland near Eugenia. The Yellowtail action was steady on 30-35 lbs. Yellows first
thing in the morning. It was fun fishing until we lost current mid morning. At that time we made a couple hour move to fish an island in search of more Yellows.
At first the move looked fruitless, we still lacked current. Then a little before lunch the boat swung a different way and the fish started to bite. It turned
into a real fun day. The fish started out in the 12-18 lbs. class then the bigger ones moved in. These brutes also averaged around 30-35 lbs. We had a side JP
going for the biggest Yellow of the day which Scott Redd won with a fish that was close to 50 lbs. We would like to thank the sponsors of this trip for their
generous giveaways. Calstar Rods, Accurate Reels, Smith Action Optics Sunglasses, Five Star Fish Processing, Blackwater, BHP Tackle, and Bloody Decks.
Thanks guys. "The Intrepid Team"
|
Fri. December 5, 2008:
Today we worked our way up the line. We were looking for school size Tuna and kelps hopefully holding Dorado. We got
into a stop early this morning on little Tuna and Yellowtail. The problem was everything was about 6 lbs. Needless to say we did not stay very long.
We worked our way outside and up and found numerous large kelps . Unfortunately these kelps were not holding much of anything. It made for a long day of finding
them , each time holding our breath hoping to see something, anything, on one. Tomorrow we will be fishing Yellows up near one of the islands. Hopes are high
that this move will pay off. "The Intrepid Team"
|
Thur. December 4, 2008:
Today we did not catch a lot but man, what we did catch was awesome. Ed Quinten finished things up today with an old Truline rod and a TLD 50 topped with 100lb. test line. After what
seemed like an eternity his fish hit the deck. The crew was really on top of their game on this one. We taped the fish out at 301. Hopefully it doesn't
lose too much weight in the brine on the way home. That was a great show but earlier in the day Marc Schmidt got into a real battle on his 80 lb straight
tie to a 6/0 super mutu. This fish took him around the boat 6 or 7 times in addition to throwing the outfit into the water on the backup rig. We had to
chase it down in our brand new 116 foot skiff. He also was on it for quite a while. When it was all said and done it taped out at 344 lbs. I know we said
we were leaving cow town but on the way up one of the crew saw some interesting things so we made a change of plans. It sure paid off for those two lucky
anglers. Tonight we are moving in to make some bait before we bug out to fish a little further up the line. Hopefully we get into some wide open action
tomorrow. "The Intrepid Team"
|
Wed. December 3, 2008:
Well, that does it for cow town for us. We are now on our way up the line to see if we can find some of that school size
Tuna. Some of the guys haven't had the opportunity to pull on anything other than a Marlin so we'll try to do something about that. How do I put it? Today was
rough. It started promising with some breaks around the boat in the gray morning then conditions went south quick. We got invaded by Marlin. It was almost
impossible to get a bait out on the flyline, much less on the kite. After being amused for a little while everybody started getting frustrated. It was time for
a move. Yesterday our little jaunt around the bank paid off but today something was different. The life that we observed yesterday just wasn't there today.
We spent a while looking around then got back to our spot. Luckily the Marlin lost us somewhere and never relocated us. We finished the day with a few beautiful
fish around the 130-140 mark. This group of guys is absolutely great. We have had slow periods at times and there hasn't been so much as a grumble. Everybody
just keeps laughing and joking. They are really a joy to fish with. Hopefully tomorrow we can put them on something they can really yank and crank on. We will
let you know. "The Intrepid Team"
|
Tues. December 2, 2008:
Today conditions really started changing around midday. This morning we had very little current and were experiencing
the same conditions we had yesterday. We decided to pick it up and do a little looking around. We traveled up a few miles and saw very little so we came back
down on a little different line. Presto! There they were, right where we suspected they would be. We ended up seeing quite a lot of fish and a couple of them
even wanted to play. Saying that, we are sticking it out for another day. Hopefully tomorrow brings some more of what this afternoon did. "The Intrepid Team"
|
Mon. December 1, 2008:
Well, today we arrived at our destination. We got here bright and early and after a little sniffing around got our pick
down, Luckily we nailed it on the first drop. It was a slow day but there is definitely no shortage of fish around. All day long we were treated to an awesome
show of breaking fish all around the boat. We did manage to hook a few which we did put on the boat. The slow periods were broken up by a school of Dorado which
hung out around us most of the day. Hopefully tomorrow the Tuna fish will be more cooperative and we will land a few more. "The Intrepid Team"
|
Sun. November 30, 2008:
We are still traveling south. We should be in the right area first thing in the morning. Anticipation is thick aboard the
Intrepid. We spent the day rigging for the monsters we hope to do battle with. We did break up the day with a stop on a kelp for a few Dorado. They should make
for an excellent dinner tonight. Wish us luck for tomorrow. "The Intrepid Team"
|
Sat. November 29, 2008:
We left yesterday on the International Cow Club 10 day charter. We have a great group of guys on this trip and everybody
is real excited to get down to cow town after the reports from last week. We made a quick drive-by at Benitos Island to see if we could maybe catch a few
Yellowtail but to no avail. We are still pointed south. Maybe we will bump into something tomorrow during our travels. "The Intrepid Team"

Tues. November 25, 2008:
We finished off our trip with lots of fun and lots of fish...The Reds and Lings were on the chew and everyone is
going to take home some great table fair. The weather was beautiful and the water flat. In the afternoon one of our cod drifts turned into a Yellowtail bite
and we were able to boat some of the nice forkies to add to the catch. We would like to give a special thanks to Wahoodad and Willy for sponsoring this trip.
We also want to thank all of the our other sponsors for this trip, Seeker Rods,Catchy Tackle, Braid, Owner Hooks, Five Star, and Sportsman's Seafood,
for their generous contributions. We have had A BLAST on this trip!!!!! THANKS AGAIN E.T.A 9am Wed. "The Intrepid Team"

Sun. November 23, 2008:
We are having some incredible weather as we come up the line. The ride, the food, and the company are making
for some fun days... We will be targeting some Yellowtail again tomorrow before continuing our way home. Tonight Javier made his famous Wahoo enchiladas,
they were very good!! Here are a few more Tuna pics. "The Intrepid Team"
|
Sat. November 22, 2008:
We have GREAT weather, GREAT food, and a GREAT group of anglers enjoying the ride up the line. The spirits are high
and the talk of the trip is fun, fun, fun. We will be making some stops to add some Yellows to the hold tomorrow and then moving on up the line. With the big
fish showing up down the beach there isn't a better time to get on the Intrepid and go for the BIG ONES! "The Intrepid Team"
|
Thur. November 20, 2008:
Today was a different day for us here on the Intrepid. We were able to pick away at the nice grade Yellowfin, with
the kites being to the most productive way of hooking into the bigger Tuna. The chunk line also brought in a few Tuna and after dark the jigs caught a few.
Overall we had a fun day fighting the big Tuna's. Lowell Dickson landed our biggest fish of the day which taped out at 202 lbs. Way to go Lowell...
We will once again be on the hunt for flyers tonight, before getting the anchor back down and resuming the fishing. "The Intrepid Team"
|
Wed. November 19, 2008:
We had tough conditions today with the current and the wind playing a role in our fishing. We did manage to catch
some nice Wahoo and get a pick bite on the nice grade Tuna. Big fish of the day taped out at 221 lbs. We had some other nice fish as well, just not in the
numbers we were hoping for. Tonight we will be on the hunt for live flyers to add some more action to the kite fishing. "The Intrepid Team"
|
Tues. November 18, 2008:
Yesterday was again a day of rigging and tackle seminars. We took some time out to enjoy a putting contest on the back
deck brought to us by Wahoodad and Willy. The event was a BIG hit, with everyone participating and enjoying some good laughs along the way. Prizes for the
event were made up of discounted fish processing back at the landing. We are having great weather and making good time in our travels. We should be at the
fishing grounds at first light tomorrow. Wish us luck!! "The Intrepid Team"
|
Sun. November 16, 2008:
Today was spent rigging and getting our tackle in order for the upcoming battles. We broke up our travels with a
seminar and some great give aways for the group. Anticipation, excitement, and tales from the past have everyone ready and chomping at the bit for some good
fishing. "The Intrepid Team"

Thur. November 13, 2008:
We had another good day here on the Intrepid. There were some quality Yellows hitting the deck today.
We will be having dinner on the anchor and then heading up the line. Tomorrow we will stop and try to put some Ling cod and Reds in the well before
calling it a trip. "The Intrepid Team"
|
Wed. November 12, 2008:
Yesterday we had good fishing for the first half of the day. After lunch the wind came up again and the fish
went down. We did catch a good number of Yellows for the morning along with a mix of Dorado and some small Yellowfin Tuna that were released.
It was a fun day with part on the anchor and part off kelps. Tomorrow we will be fishing around Cedros for some variety. "The Intrepid Team"
|
Mon. November 10, 2008:
Today we had a slow morning, but around lunch time we found that Porpoise school holding Yellowfin in abundance.
The bite was on!! It was wide open fishing all afternoon. By the end of the day we had limits of Yellowfin. All of the fish were nice grade, but none of
them were the very large models we are all hoping will bite in the very near future. Tomorrow we will be on the hunt for other types of game fish. We have
talked about this before but if you want to get in on some of this great fishing, now is the time. You wont regret it. "The Intrepid Team"
|
Sun. November 9, 2008:
We spent our day offshore hunting the porpoise and the larger Tuna for little action. We found good sign and lots
of porpoise, but no willing Tuna for our efforts. There is good sign of tuna on the outside and it is only a matter of time before they start bitting. We did
catch plenty of nice Dorado and a few more Marlin to keep some sort of action going. We hope for better fishing tomorrow. "The Intrepid Team"
|
Sat. November 8, 2008:
Today we had what everyone on a long range trip dreams about. The amount of life around the boat today was awesome,
not to top the wide open Tuna fishing we experienced. The Whales, the Birds, the Dolphins, and the fantastic fishing we found made for a great day out on
the water. We caught all the Tuna we wanted and some very nice bull Dorado as well. The Marlin made a big show today, we caught and released over twenty
of the billfish. Tomorrow we will be on the hunt for bigger fish in the lower bank zone. Wish us luck!! "The Intrepid Team"
|
Thur. November 6, 2008:
Good evening. Today was spent traveling south and the day was filled with tackle seminars and rigging
for the next week of fishing. We did stop along the coast for some afternoon Yellowtail fishing for tomorrows lunch. We are all excited and are
anticipating a fun week of fishing. "The Intrepid Team"
|

Sun. November 2, 2008:
We spent today looking for Yellowtail. The morning looked promising as we spotted sign and breaking fish over
a large area covering several miles. We could have had a very productive day except for one thing. The wind came up. By noon it was blowing hard.
It made for very difficult conditions. We did manage to make a nice catch on Calico Bass. They made for a very tasty lunch. Javier really outdid himself there.
We finished the day making a few final drifts in the wind trying for a few more Yellows. We then hid in a bay for a nice comfortable dinner.
We are now heading up the line. The weather does not look as bad as earlier in the day so we are optimistic we will make good time and get in a little
fishing time tomorrow somewhere up on the inside. "The Intrepid Team"
|
Sat. November 1, 2008:
Today we looked at a lot of water offshore. We found quite a few kelps that definitely should have been holding.
The water was warm and blue. We did manage to pick off some Dorado, Wahoo, and we released some unwanted Yellowfin. Later in the afternoon we headed
inside to see if we could put together a Yellowtail catch. That move proved fruitless. The water was good and we had plenty of sign of bait but there
just wasn't any fish. The plan for tomorrow is to keep heading up the line and attempt to catch some Yellowtail. The weather is coming up a little but the
ride is still plenty comfortable. "The Intrepid Team"
|
Fri. October 31, 2008:
"Hi everyone", this morning we looked at a lot of water. We were looking for that larger grade fish but just couldnt get on
top of it. Just before lunch, off on the horizon, we noticed some birds flying around. About an hour later we pulled up on a foamer of yellowfin in that 30# range.
The rest of the day we spent running around chasing birds and porpoise. It was fun fishing for both passengers and crew. You know it was a good day when you go in
the galley for dinner and the scent of ben-gay almost drives you right back out. We are now moving up the line in search of a little color to throw in our wells.
...."The Intrepid Team"

Thur. October 30, 2008:
We spent the day coverering ground towards the south and found some nice
doroado for our efforts. The weather is warm and seas conditions are beautiful.
Tonight for dinner Javier had a Hawaiian Spread with everything one's heart desires. We are going to do this again
tomorrow....."The Intrepid Team"

you will be credited the difference on any trip of your choice. If you choose a longer trip you will be required to pay the balance.

Today started off a little on the slow side. After a few no fish hours offshore we started to reach our destination.
As we neared it we started to see a little more life with each passing minute. Pretty soon all the bait and bird sign turned to Tuna. We started our first drift
and three and a half hours later landed the last one of that drift. Time to do it again. When the day ended everybody was all smiles and aches. I don't think we
are going far tonight. "The Intrepid Team"
|
Mon. October 27, 2008:
We arrived at our first destination today. We caught a few fish including Wahoo, some Yellowail, and a decent
Tuna bite. Everybody is in good spirits and we are making an overnight move to see what other parts of the ocean are holding. We will let you know what
we find tomorrow. "The Intrepid Team"

Sat. October 25, 2008:
The Intrepid returned today from our Catchy Tackle 11 day trip with a fine catch of big Tuna. Jackpot results :

We picked up a great load of bait and are now headed for points south. Everybody had a relaxing afternoon in front of the USC game. We enjoyed a fantastic
Prime Rib dinner prepared by chef Javier and are now looking forward to a good nights sleep in flat calm weather. Reports will follow. "The Intrepid Team"

Fri. October 24, 2008:
We finished off our trip with a few Yellowtail and some very good Red-rock cod fishing.. There were several
large Lingcod in the mix as well. We would like to share one highlight of a different kind with you from this already wonderful trip. Tonight's picture
is of a Whale Shark that was enjoying a back scrub as he swam along side the boat during our fishing day. The Whale Shark liked the back scratching so
much that he stayed with us for several hours throughout the day. We would like to thank Catchy Tackle and Wayne Martin once again for a most memorable trip.
Our E.T.A is 7:00 am Sat.

Wed. October 22, 2008:
Our travels are blessed with good weather and an upbeat atmosphere here on the Intrepid. As we work on small
projects and give our vessel the care she deserves for our upcoming trips, we still continue to talk about the heartbreak losses and the giant kite
explosions of our hot bite. We have many memories and special times made with such an adventure as this one. We hope you enjoy these photos of some
of the nice grade Yellowfin Tuna. "The Intrepid Team"

Tue. October 21, 2008:
Good evening from the bridge of the Intrepid. We are making our way up the line and the mood here is very festive.
It is not very often you spend the entire day going over the battles won and the battles lost over a two and a half day period. With 90% of our passengers
landing their personal best Tuna, one can only imagine the spirit of all in the galley. I have to acknowledge the outstanding job the Intrepid Crew did
in handling these big fish, especially at the pace they came over the rail yesterday. We would also like to let everyone know how well the new Super Seeker
6463xxxx-h rod performed on these Tuna, as well as the Avet Pro EX 50 wide 2 speed reels, together they performed flawlessly! With that being said,
tonight's pictures are a few of the fish caught during a great night bite.. "The Intrepid Team"

Mon. October 20, 2008:
The roll of the dice is always a risk, but sometimes you just have to follow your gut and go for it!
With the conditions on the inside being less than ideal, we decided to take the chance and run to the Hurricane Bank on this 11 day Catchy Tackle Charter.
The move paid off big time!! Today was the best day of our trip and the best day of big fish as well. We started off with a wide open gray bite on the
big fish that lasted all day long. The big Tuna came through in waves, and when the dust settled we had all we wanted. The major part of our catch
is between 125 lbs and 180 lbs. I do not know how many fish over 200 lbs we have, but there are many of them. The action was so fast during the day
that it took everything we had to keep up. The kite rotation went through many cycles with everyone on board landing their biggest Tuna ever.
We will send pictures throughout the week every night to give you all an idea of how great a trip this has been..."The Intrepid Team"
|
Sun. October 19, 2008:
The Intrepid and her passengers enjoyed a very good day of Yellowfin Tuna fishing. We were able to keep several
fish going all day long and short flurries of Wahoo to keep things interesting. The quality of the Tuna is absolutely awesome, with the majority of the Tuna
going between 120 lbs and 225 lbs!! Many of our fisherman have achieved their personal best Tuna on this trip already. We had so much fun today that we
are going to fish for these beautiful grade Tuna again tomorrow! Wish us luck!! "The Intrepid Team"
|
Sat. October 18, 2008:
The day started off slow for us here on the Intrepid, but by mid afternoon things really turned on!! We spent
the afternoon getting steady jigs strikes of Wahoo with the Catchy Tackle Wahoo bombs producing very well. We continued to get steady jigs strikes on Wahoo
and medium grade Yellowfin until we found the right porpoise school holding the big Yellowfin we are looking for. We gave em alot of bait and they
responded well. We spent the last few hours of the day light fighting 100-180 lb Yellowfin that pushed the guys to their limits. As of 9:00 pm we have
5 fish going and we are still hooking Tuna. We will be after these beautiful grade Tuna again tomorrow."The Intrepid Team "
|
Fri. October 17, 2008:
We are traveling south in search of kelps and other floating structure that would be holding Wahoo and Dorado.

what a hit they were!! Tomorrow we will be on the hunt for Yellowfin Tuna. "The Intrepid Team"

Fri. October 10, 2008:
Yesterday was slow fishing once again as the pressure continues to drop and the weather builds.
We did manage a few nice Tuna, released a Marlin, and a very nice Wahoo for our efforts. Today we are traveling up the coast very slowly as the ocean
is angry and all mixed up. Tomorrow we will take a break and hide behind an island for a few hours before we resume our rough voyage northwards.
All onboard wish to let the friends and family know that we are safe and working our way north. "The Intrepid Team"

After traveling up the line from the big island last night we found our area and got on some kelps that were
holding Yellowfin, Dorado and small Yellowtail. All the Yellowfin we caught today were between 20 and 30 lbs, with the Dorado and Yellowtail being small
fish which were released. Overall we had a fun day of fishing and a good trip. We had some slow days, but we stuck it out and were able to come away with

Thur. October 2, 2008:
Persistence pays off....We stuck it out and the fish rewarded us for our efforts. After two full days of slow
fishing we were able to get on a school that wanted to chew. The fish came up with a vengeance and we were able to put together a nice day of Yellowfin
fishing. The fish were in 60-100 lb range and really put the guys to the rail. We were happy to have a good ending for Guadalupe season,
the rest of the fall will be down south on the long runs. With the season we put together we are very grateful to be able to fish such a wonderful island.
We are looking forward to the rest of the fall season and want to thank all of our passengers and friends for a great summer season here on the Intrepid.

In particular the butterfly jigs working the best on the Yellows. In the end we were able to make a day out of it. Hopefully the conditions improve and
tomorrows fishing will turn around for us. "The Intrepid Team"

Sat. July 26, 2008:
Today was a very special day here for us on the Intrepid. As far as the fishing goes, it was scratch fishing
until we got into the zone and caught some mixed Yellowfin and Albacore late in the day. We spotted a group of
killer whales and as we got closer to them they noticed a pod of bottle nosed dolphins going by. The chase was on. We witnessed a rare thing today as
we watched five killer whales chase down and attack the pod of dolphins. The whales separated a small group from the main body and circled them into a
tight school before the dominate male orca (bull) pounced onto them with a full breach right in front of the boat. We were then givin a 30 minute show
of the orcas teaching thier young how to corall thier prey and eventuly feed on them. To put things in perspective, we got to watch all of this less
than 100 feet off our bow!!! The videos and pictures that were taken will be impressive, but watching this live was AWSOME to say the least.
"The Intrepid Team" ETA 6am
.

Thu. June 19th, 2008:
The fishing today was on the slow side with alot of run and gun style of chasing around the small spots of fish that were
up and under the birds. When we did get a spot to stay with us the seals would take a large portion of what we had hooked up. Overall we managed to get everyone a
few fish for the day along with the donations made to the sea life. Tomorrow we will be looking offshore for some action of a different kind. Wish us luck... "The
Intrepid Team"
